Thanksgiving Prime Rib

Hope all of you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with the people you love. Richie and I stayed here in DC rather than fight with the travelling masses to get to either of our home states. This is the second year in a row that we've done that, so I guess we've established it as our tradition. Another tradition of two years and counting... instead of turkey, we had prime rib. Sorry, I didn't take a picture, but I can assure you it tasted even better than it looked!

Next weekend we are having a holiday cocktail party (you are all virtually invited - I wish you could come in reality too!). I'm feeling really out of practice in the party hosting arena and kind of struggling to come up with foods that are fairly easy to prepare and will appeal to a broad spectrum of people, yet have that "dinner club" quality too. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the late comment ... you probably have your food ideas squared away by now. But jsut in case, how about a mixed grill platter that had all sorts of grilled veggies and meats for people to pick from? Or maybe charcuterie? Jess suggests the DC recipes of baked brie with raspberry, or port glazed stilton with walnuts or pecans. And, you made a good spinach and pine nut tart for DC ... maybe you could repeat that?
